Abhishek Bachchan’s next, Lefty is a Prabhu Dheva directorial. It’s about a normal guy who turns into his city’s saviour, when circumstances demand it.
Kona Venkat, who formerly wrote Ready and has scripted Boney Kapoor’s Mom, is writing the screenplay of Lefty. “I was signed by Abhishek three years ago. His friend heard a one-line narration from me in New York and told him about it. Abhishek asked me to come for a narration to his office. He loved the script. It’s a science fiction thriller, something like Ghajini and is about an eccentric guy who is left-handed, just like Abhishek is in real life. Kona adds, “Abhishek’s character doesn’t have super powers, but his character becomes powerful. He will build his body for the film as he needs to have a certain kind of body type for it.” (Also Read: Abhishek Bachchan would be more than happy to work with Amitabh, Aishwarya and Jaya in a film!)
The film goes on floors next year and will be an AB Corp production. Abhishek’s last film was Housefull 3, which did very well at the box office. However, he has not been as a solo hero. His last film, All Is Well that starred Asin and him was a washout at the box office. However, Abhishek has always won appreciation for his work in all his films. Prabhu Dheva’s Lefty sounds like an exciting project for him to unleash his acting prowess, which stunned us in films like Yuva, Guru and Raavan. While there is buzz he might do Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout 3, no one has actually confirmed the news. Stay tuned to Bollywood Life for more updates….
