Game of Thrones actor Peter Vaughan who played Maester Aemon Targareyan has passed away at the age of 93

Popularly known for his role in Game of Thrones, Peter Vaughan, who played Maester Aemon in the HBO series breathed his last today. He was 93. An official statement about the demise of the British actor has been passed in which his agent Sally Long-Innes has said, “This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10.30 this morning. He died peacefully with his family around him.” Peter Dinklage a.k.a Tyrion Lannister from GOT took to Twitter to express his views and thoughts about the sad demise of his co-actor. “Peter Vaughan who played Maester Aemon on Game of Thrones has passed away at the age of 93. Peter, who played Jon Snow’s blind, scholarly mentor Maester Aemon Targareyan in Game of Thrones, started with his acting career way back in the 1950s. He became a well-known face in the Hollywood industry where he was seen playing primarily supporting roles on television, in films and radio.Apart from Game of Thrones, Vaughan is known for his role in Porridge where he played Harry Grout, the villain. Even though he appeared for only a couple of episodes, his performance was pretty impressive. His other works include Citizen Smith, The Remains of the Day, Our Friends in the North and Straw Dogs.
