Pearl V Puri admits to suffering from depression

The handsome Pearl V Puri has been down lately. Pearl, who gained a lot of popularity with fans after his portrayal of Abeer in Phir Bhi Na Maane…Badtameez Dil was complaining of breathlessness and palpitation while shooting for his current show, Nagarjuna – Ek Yoddha. The unit took him to the hospital where the doctors diagnosed it as an anxiety attack. Pearl who was last seen on Meri Saasu Maa was roped in for Nagarjuna as the makers needed a muscular actor to play the snake warrior in the fantasy thriller show. In an interview to Bombay Times, Pearl admitted that more than anxiety he has been suffering from loneliness and depression. He was quoted as saying, “More than anxiety, it was loneliness and depression. There is no one to take care of me in Mumbai as my parents live in Delhi. I was feeling homesick and wanted to go home. My parents did not support my decision to become an actor, so they have visited me only once in five years. I don’t even tell them when I fall ill. I have friends, but it’s a ruthless world. People are busy with their lives, so when you fall sick, you feel lonelier. Pearl hails an affluent business family in Agra and has often spoken about how his parents, mainly his dad did not support his decision to enter the entertainment industry. In an earlier interview he had said that his family has an established business in Agra and his father is totally against the idea of his son struggling in a city like Mumbai. While things have improved, he is yet to make peace with his decision. We are sure that it must have really disheartened the young man.

Moreover, there were reports of how Pearl has literally isolated everyone from the sets of Nagarjuna – Ek Yoddha. This happened after he got linked to his co-star from Meri Saasu Maa, Hiba Nawab. Grapevine was abuzz with their roaring affair. Pearl’s love life has made news right from the first show, Badtameez Dil where Asmita Sood and he were rumoured to be a couple. They maintained they were friends but stories of how Asmita cut off ties with him post his bonding with Hiba suggested otherwise.
