Force 2 has seen a fair first week at the Box Office. With 29.35 crore* coming in its kitty, the film has now gone past the lifetime total of John Abraham’s last solo release, Rocky Handsome. The action flick had brought in 26 crore in the final run and with Force 2 doing better in one week itself, it pretty much suggests that the film has been appreciated more.
What makes these collections appear even better is the fact that demonetization continues to be a reality and that is impacting quite a few businesses that run on cash, including theatrical revenues. Tickets through credit cards are still at infancy even in multiplexes of major cities and Force 2 has seen a brunt of that as well. If not for that, the film’s opening weekend would have fetched at least 6-7 crore and that would have placed this Abhinay Deo directed affair in a much better situation. The makers are finding themselves in a green zone already, though bigger numbers would have fetched Force 2 a higher verdict.
Tum Bin 2 has struggled right from its opening show and that reflects in the first week collections of a mere 3.5 crore*. Now these are extremely low numbers for the musical romantic affair and pretty much convey that audiences were not even interested to check out what the film had to offer, leave aside forming an opinion around it. It is a clear case of ignorance killing the product and with hardly any shows in the second week, the film would pretty much ends its lifetime run at this mark. The film is ending up with collections even lesser than Tum Bin [4.5 crore] which had released 15 years back that tells the tale. Flop.
