Chiranjeevi's comeback film Kathilanthodu finally goes on floors!

From the beginning of the year, we have been hearing about Chiranjeevi’s comeback in films. The film is supposed to be a remake of Vijay and AR Murugadoss’s super hit film Kaththi. But the shooting kept facing delays due to some reason or the other, until now that is. Now, the shooting for the long awaited film has finally started.

The shooting for Chiranjeevi’s Kathilanthodu has finally kicked off today. A source from the film unit was quoted saying,”The shooting has started from today. The first schedule will be shot in a prison set that has been specially erected for the movie.” This is not surprising since the first scene of Kaththi was also set in a prison in West Bengal, from which Vijay, who plays a convict, breaks out. However, the actress for the project has not been finalised, but since this scene does not involve the heroine, the team has gone right ahead with the shooting.

As of now, names of Telugu actresses Anushka Shetty and Nayanthara have come up. There are talks that the makers even approached Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone to play the female lead. But nothing has panned out so far. The film has also faced regular delays and problems from the pre production stage. First the shoot had been delayed to the Megastar facing health issues. Then the Kathilanthodu team had landed in legal trouble over intellectual property.

So the Chiru fans can finally take a sigh of relief that the film has finally gone on floors in spite of all the problems.
