Deepika Padukone is being paid more than Ranveer Singh in Padmavati!

Padmavati is changing the game already…

So after years of women fighting against pay disparity in Bollywood,  or in other fields as well, now we have a film where the actor is being paid less than the actress. 

Deepika Padukone recently made it to the Forbes’ list of world’s highest paid actresses. She was billed at No.10. The news came close on the heels of her getting paid a huge amount — `11 crores for her next, Padmavati directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. So, where does that leave her beau Ranveer Singh who will also be part of the film? Sources say that he is getting somewhere between `7-8 crores, which is lesser than Dippy. Now, that’s woman power at its best. We are sure Ranveer will be proud of his girlfriend, right?

While the apparent fallout between director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer had stalled the film, we hear that Padmavati is back on track and will release on December 15, 2017 as planned. In fact, the pre-production work is going on wholeheartedly and a set is being made currently at the Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai.

The Forbes list that featured Deepika was quite under fire for misspelling the actress’ name. In the list, they misspelled Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan’s names as Peedika Padukone and Salman Kahn. For all those unaware, Deepika stands on the tenth position with an annual earning of $10 million. Jennifer Lawrence has topped the list with with a total earning of $46 million. In the men’s category, Shah Rukh Khan stands on the eight position with a total earning is $33 million, Akshay on the tenth position with an annual earning of $31.5 million, Salman on the 14th position by earning $28.5 million and Amitabh Bachchan on 18th position with $20 million. The actor’s list was topped by Baywatch actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who earned a whooping $64.5 million.
