Lion trailer: Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Rooney Mara star in this emotional search of one's roots!

The film is directed by Garth Davis.

You can call it a more emotional version of Slumdog Millionaire, after all Lion is about a little kid getting separated from his elder brother and trying to find him in his adulthood. And yes, both the films star Dev Patel.

However the trailer of Lion is much more different in the sense that it will have the protagonist dealing with his adopted family as well, and that it is based in a true story. Lion is based on the real-life story of Saroo Brierley, who got separated from his family at the age of five and was later adopted by an Australian couple.

Dev Patel will be playing Saroon in the movie adaptation, while Nicole Kidman and David Wenham plays his adopted parents from Australia. Rooney Mara plays his girlfriend. The film follows Saroo’s journey to trace his real family and elder brother, with whom he got separated when as a kid, he accidentally got on to a train and couldn’t get off. And it is this search of his roots, along with glimpses of the past, that’s what makes the meat of the story here. When Saroo decides find his real family, of course, his adopted family is bound to get disappointed. So expect from high voltage drama between Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel.
