Shilpa Shinde goes all glam for Rishi Kapoor and Vir Das in Patel ki Panjabbi Shaadi

The film is a cross-cultural comedy with Rishi playing a boisterous Punjabi and Paresh, a traditional Gujarati.

Shilpa Shinde aka former Angoori Bhabhi has decided to do a makeover and go all glam for a special song in an upcoming film.

We were the first ones to break this news that she will be a part of special celebratory song in Patel ki Panjabbi Shaadi, which stars Rishi Kapoor, Vir Das, Payal Ghosh and Paresh Rawal. The film is directed by Sanjay Chhel, who previously made Khoobsurat with Sanjay Dutt and Urmila Matondkar.

Vir Das, Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal recently shot for a fun song that had Shilpa Shinde joining them for the dance celebrations. And going by the above still, it seem to be a pretty dhamaal number. Lalit Pandit has composed the song.

Speaking to Mirror, the director Sanjay Chhel gave a little insight about the film and, of course, the song. He said, “The film is a cross-cultural comedy with Rishi playing a boisterous Punjabi and Paresh, a traditional Gujarati. They share a Tom and Jerry kind of a relationship peppered with personality clashes. The special number is set during an engagement ceremony.”

So why Shilpa Shinde, who was known for her controversial exit from the show Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai? He said, “Shilpa fits the bill. She is a male fantasy and also popular among the family audience, a great combo of sex appeal and a sanskari image.”

Shilpa is also excited about her Bollywood break and the fact that she is sharing screen with Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. She revealed, “It was the film’s last schedule and I didn’t want to lose out on the song. Rishi Kapoor had heard about me leaving the show and pointed out that I should not have got off a chalti gaadi, we are artistes. I told him, aag lagi aur mujhe koodna pada. Even Pareshji admitted that his wife (Swaroop Sampat) used to watch my show.”
