Fan was hugely anticipated because after non-brainy Chennai Express, Happy New Year and Dilwale, Shah Rukh Khan was back in the mould he deserved more applause for, Shah Rukh the actor. But its failure at the box office disheartened many. Had it been anyone else, he would have probably went back to a safe film but Shah Rukh didn’t. While he plays a man who gives love advice to Alia Bhatt in Gauri Shinde’s next, he will chop off a few inches of his height for Aanand L Rai’s next. And we have some details about the latter which will definitely make your day.

Aanand L Rai, who gave us the immensely entertaining Tanu Weds Manu series and the reluctantly lovable Raanjhanaa, is gearing up for his next which is a Shah Rukh Khan starrer. He spoke to Mumbai Mirror today and revealed some details about the film which we will share with you.

#The big and short of it 

You might have been hearing rumours that Shah Rukh Khan plays a dwarf in this film. Well, it’s time to tell you the truth. The superstar definitely is playing a dwarf in the film, he is just 3 feet and 1 inch tall. Talking about it, the filmmaker said, “SRK plays a dwarf and it is going to be a lot of hardwork.” He also adds, “Nobody understand ordinaries better than Mr. Khan. I am looking forward to seeing him in the dwarf avatar.”

#Time will not be of the essence 

As much as we are elated to know that SRK is trying something completely different in this film, we also have to deal with the fact that this project will take time to get made. Rai defends that it generally takes him 2-3 years to make a film but this might take longer. He blames some of it on his laziness though!

# Love love love hua 

Here’s the awesome part of it all. Rai gives an insight into the film’s story and it’s all things fascinating. The film will be a complete love story which is a “family entertainer with a lot of romance,” as Rai explained it. He further added, “Someone great once said that there are no bad actors, only bad directors’, and I believe that. My films should bring out the unsaid conversations and interactions between characters. In Raanjhanaa, everyone identified with Dhanush’s character, Kundan, a lovelorn boy while in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, we explored Kangana’s (Ranaut) Datto, a woman with lots of grey shades. My next explores these unique exchanges of love as well.”
