Box office update: Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men: Apocalypse BEATS Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Sarbjit over the weekend!

The Hollywood film does better than the Bollywood film in the first three days..

2016 has been a very great year for Hollywood films in India, right from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice to The Jungle Book to the Captain America: Civil War to X-Men: Apocalypse now, all the films are doing well at the domestic box office. But what is astonishing is that Hollywood films have out performed a few Bollywood films this year. This week again, Jennifer Lawrence’s X Men: Apocalypse has BEATEN Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Sarbjit over the weekend.

Sarbjit started off very slowly, but grew over the weekend. However, X-Men: Apocalypse started off well and continued to grow on Saturday and Sunday to beat Aishwarya’s film. Sarbjit has collected Rs 13.96 crore in three days, while X-Men: Apocalypse has earned Rs 16.21 crore.

Talking about the Sarbjit‘s collection over the weekend, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted saying, “#Sarbjit had positive trending across the weekend, with biz growing with each passing day… Sat growth was 23.58%, while Sun was 25.22%… #Sarbjit Fri 3.69 cr, Sat 4.56 cr, Sun 5.71 cr. Total: Rs 13.96 cr. India biz… Biz needs to hold strongly on weekdays for a good total.”

He even mentioned about X-Men: Apocalypse in his tweets, “XMenApocalypse fares well… Growth in biz: Sat 25.28%, Sun 7.08%… Fri 4.51 cr, Sat 5.65 cr, Sun 6.05 cr. Total: Rs 16.21 cr. India biz.”

With the look of the things right now, it seems that X-Men: Apocalypse will continue to do well throughout this week, while Sarbjit will have an average run. Which film did you like more: Jennifer Lawrence’s X-Men: Apocalypse or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan‘s Sarbjit?
