Rarely do you see a film that becomes bigger than your imagination and we are not talking in terms of hype or budget. We are speaking about content here. 2016 can easily be called the year of strong and powerful content which has pleased one and all. Pink is one such film. The kind of topic it addressed has left everyone deeply moved. Many films have spoken about biased mentality towards men and women which is the biggest flaw of this country. But none left such an indelible mark. May be because a men fought for the rights of the women in the film. And thus box office has been showering it with money. Our Trade experts had predicted that Pink will earn 3 to 3.5 cr in its first day but it proved everyone wrong by earning 4. 3 cr. Since then it has seen an amazing ride. In fact, it has already crossed 50 crore and earned twice the number it was made on. The film approximately was made on a budget of 25 cr and has already earned 50 cr. It is now just making profits. But what is even more amazing is the trend it has set. A film sees nearly 60-70 percent drop on its second weekend but Pink saw only 29 percent, as was revealed by Taran Adarsh. You can see how the numbers on second weekend was impressive. Friday got a 3. 15 cr and went up to 5. 49 cr on Saturday and 6. 57 cr Sunday. You don’t generally see such numbers for a film which doesn’t boast of the Khans or Kumar. Amitabh Bachchan‘s presence is definitely the highlight here because this man can make any character amazing. The first week trend itself was pretty brilliant for a small film like this. Taran Adarsh had shared the figures of its first week as well. He wrote, “#Pink Fri 4.32 cr, Sat 7.65 cr, Sun 9.54 cr, Mon 3.78 cr, Tue 3.51 cr, Wed 3.87 cr, Thu 3.24 cr. Total: Rs 35.91 cr. India biz.” You can see it was pretty steady after witnessing the traditional first Monday drop.
