Well, not just Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, there is yet another film that has fallen prey to the ongoing controversy surrounding the ban on Pakistani artists. Bollywood actress Sridevi’s next has been put on hold. Why? The film titled Mom, which kicked off in March this year, stars two Pakistani actors Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali who will be playing Sridevi’s husband and daughter respectively in the film, reports Mirror. “After Delhi, we had a two-month schedule in Georgia in May. The remain ing portions will most probably be shot in Mumbai but it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon given the current situation. We’re waiting to hear about the final schedule, says a source. “ Sri’s husband Boney Kapoor who is producing Mom has even refused to reveal when he plans on releasing the film. Taking into consideration the current screnario, it looks like the film industry is going to have a tough time releasing movies that feature Pakistani artists. For those who came in late, this ban comes in the wake of the Uri attack that happened last month when 19 Indian soldiers got martyered in a terrorist attack. Last month, Shafqat Amanat Ali and Atif Aslam’s concerts were canceled in India due to the protests by MNS who warned the Pakistani actors to go back to their country. After MNS directed an unofficial ban on Pakistani artists, Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) officially banned all the Pakistani artists from working in India. These artists included Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and many more. “In IMPPA we have not banned Pakistani actors but we have told the producers that any producer who had already made the movie, then their movies should be released and they should make new movies only when India Pakistan relations get better,” said president T.P. Aggarwal. (ALSO READ: Sridevi’s daughters Jhanvi and Khushi Kapoor redefine HOTNESS with their latest airport outing- view HQ pics)
