After the success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani on 70mm, the powerful love story of the warrior and his Muslim beloved will be told again for the small screen. Sony TV is bringing forth the historical drama and it is touted to be a lavish production. Bajirao Mastani is the love story between Maratha warrior Bajirao and his Muslim courtesan, Mastani. Their unending love is a part of Maratha folklore. The film starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in pivotal roles. The mahurat of the TV series was done a few days back.
It seems like actor Nawab Shah will join the cast of Bajirao Mastani. He will play the role of a Nizam. The seasoned performer was last seen as Haider on Amma – Ek Maa Jo Bani Lakhon Ke Liya Amma show. He played a role inspired by Karim Lala on the show. Nawab Shah was also seen as a cop on Nagarjuna – Ek Yoddha on Life OK. The actor has been seen in films like Dilwale and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as well. Actors Anuja Sathe and Manish Wadhwa have already been roped in for the magnum opus. There was buzz that actress Isha Koppikar would play the lead role but not much has been heard on it so far.
This year Nawab Shah has been in the news more for his break up with Kavita Kaushik. The two were going steady since some time but their relationship did not last. It seems her family was not keen on seeing her married to Nawab. They called it quits. Since then, he has reportedly found a new girlfriend. Kavita has also moved on.
