Earlier we told you that Salman Khan is excited to work on a project produced by his sister Alvira and her husband Atul Agnihotri. Now latest we learn is that movie will be remake of a Korean film , Ode to my Father. Any guesses about the name of director who gets a chance to direct this superstar in this movie? Well he is none other than Salman’s current favourite Ali Abbas Zafar. Yes the same director who directed him in Sultan and will do the same Tiger Zinda Hai. As per reports in DNA, Salman is keen to work on this project after he wraps Yash Raj Film’s Tiger Zinda Hai. So this means that the actor will work on two back to back projects with Ali sitting on director’s seat. Also Read: Salman Khan will never work with Kabir Khan again?
Now what’s Ode to my Father all about? The plot is really interesting. It starts with the movie’s lead character (an ailing grandfather) who’s now in South Korea, remembering his childhood days where he looses his father and younger sister in a rush to flee South during the Korean war. This child in his father’s absence becomes the head of his family at a very young age thus realising a lifelong sense of responsibilities towards his family. So we’ll see actor playing an old character once again after Tiger Zinda Hai!
Salman was supposed to start this project early this year but then Kabir Khan’s Tubelight came up and actor decided to get done with it first. When the reports about Ali Abbas Zafar doing Tiger Zinda Hai surfaced, we all were curious to know why Kabir Khan wasn’t signed to direct the sequel of his own movie, Ek Tha Tiger. The reason was Tubelight director was in talks to direct Salman in this Korean movie remake. However now after learning about some differences brewing between the actor and his Tubelight director, we can very well say Kabir has been replaced by Ali yet another time. It was just yesterday that we told you that these differences and cold war is so huge that the duo has decided to never work with each other again. While we all though the rift will be short lived as this jodi has given us some superhit movies like Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the latest reports paint an altogether different picture. Sultan director will now join the likes of Kabir Khan and Sooraj Barjatya for having directed Salman in three movies. Weird industry right? Friendships and relations change with every single second. Ode to my father will be developed and reconstructed keeping India in mind. While the original was based on Korean war, this might be based during the partition period in our country. Interestingly Tubelight too is assumed to derived it’s inspiration from Hollywood project Little Boy. So should we say that Bollywood is now eyeing Hollywood’s small scale projects as well! Also any thought which actress will be signed opposite Salman in this project? Start thinking since we are racing our mind too!
