Here are the deets on what the TV actors are doing in the City Of Joy

Do you want to know who is the desi Jerry Maguire? Well, it is none other than actor Barun Sobti. The handsome actor who gained immense popularity as Arnav Singh Raizada from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is back with a 70mm venture. The actor’s debut film Main Aur Mr Right tanked but he is back with other flick, 22 Yards. He plays a sports agent in the film.

The dude is not alone in this venture. Actress Panchi Bora who has done shows like Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and is seen as Jhanvi on &TV’s Gangaa is also a part of the show. She is a sports journo and his girlfriend.

Barun plays a Bengali character called Ron Sen who is a sports agent. The film shows his rise and fall amidst the backdrop of a professional league. The film is directed by sports journalist Mitali Ghosh who has made a documentary on Saurav Ganguly. Though it is a fictional set up the incidents are quite real.

’22 Yards ‘ is coming of age story of a sports agent, his love story and a scandal. It is about how he resurrects his life from rock bottom. Barun has been working on the look and feel of the character and also on his accent as he is playing a Bengali for the first time. The actor who is a Punjabi from Delhi has to shed his accent to become Ron Sen.

The film has music by Salim and Sulaiman and is produced by Pradip Churiwala and Mitali Ghosh. Barun’s show on Zee TV ‘Mohra’ also got shelved and the fate of his film ‘Sattra Ki Shaadi ‘ produced by John Abhraham is unsure. He also completed a film called Tu Hai Mera Sunday, which was screened at Cannes this year.

This film is good news for Barun’s fans and the actor is open to do films as well.
