With the Kabali mania going on, can Irrfan Khan sustain?
Everyone might be talking about Rajinikanth and his latest film, Kabali, that we tend to forget that a Bollywood biggie also released with the film!
Irrfan Khan’s social drama, Madaari, had opened this Friday along with kabali. Like how the film’s hero had taken on the mighty in the film, even Madaari had the guts to taken on the mighty Kabali at the box office. But did it work for the film?
As per an IANS report, the film only managed to gross Rs 4.45 crore worldwide on its opening day. The film collected Rs 3.25 crore in India and Rs 1.2 crore overseas, said a statement from the representative of the movie.
Though this amount look like a molehill in comparison to Kabali’s mountainous collections, the film could garner more collections in the weekend if the film clicked with the audience. However, despite a stellar performance from Irrfan Khan and the movie’s noble intentions, the film suffers from an average narrative and a predictable plot. Madaari also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Vishesh Bansal, Tushar Dalvi, Nitish Pandey and Ayesha Raza.
The makers of the film can take solace with the fact that the film got some good reviews from the film fraternity!
