Sultan stands steady in its third week!
Sultan has emerged as a box-office winner. The five day opening weekend helped the film earn tremendous amount of money. The film went on to break innumerable records. With Salman Khan on board, that’s not surprising at all. The film was expected to become 2016’s biggest blockbuster film and Sultan has deservedly become so. Salman Khan’s fan following, Anushka Sharma’s acting and Vishal – Shekhar’s songs catapulted the film to supreme success.
It even recorded the fastest Rs 500 cr worldwide gross. And after a massive opening weekend and an enviable first week, Sultan started to slump. It was expected to go past Dhoom 3 on its third week but it couldn’t. The film has earned Rs 280.10 cr while Dhoom 3’s lifetime collections rests at Rs 284. 27 cr.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh provided the figures of the third week of the film at the box office and wrote, “#Sultan [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr. Total: ₹ 280.10 cr. India biz.” He had also given the day wise collection of the film in its second week. “#Sultan [Week 2] Fri 7.43 cr, Sat 11.46 cr, Sun 15.18 cr, Mon 4.08 cr, Tue 3.72 cr, Wed 3.42 cr, Thu 3.51 cr. Total: ₹ 277.96 cr.” tweeted Adarsh. The numbers have been on a downward spiral, as you can see but since it’s a Salman Khan film, the numbers are still great. You will never see such numbers for films in their second week.
