The Voice India Kids Telly Review: Shaan and Neeti Mohan's musical reality show is bound to be a HIT!

The Voice India Kids Telly Review: Shaan and Neeti Mohan’s musical reality show is bound to be a HIT!

The kids version of the &TV’s The Voice is super entertaining!

So ‘The Voice India Kids’ premiered on television today and believe me it has all the elements of becoming the next popular reality show. Considering the popularity of kids’ reality shows in India, I can safely predict that the show will hugely benefit from the situation that here are no other  kids’ singing reality shows running at the moment.

A young jury panel – Shekhar, Neeti Mohan, Shaan; cute anchors Jay Bhanushali and Sugandha Mishra and talented kids from all over India – The Voice India Kids has all the ingredients to work on the small screen. Although it follows the stereotypical style of having two hosts, showing contestants’ emotional introductory audio visuals and the judges pampering the kiddos, the USP of the show still remains in it’s name. The Voice has worked all these years, in so many countries because of its core concept of judging the contestants purely on the basis of their voice and not looks or anything else.

The series consists of three phases: a Blind Audition, a Battle Phase and Live Performance shows. The first stage, that we saw today, is the blind auditions, where auditionees sing in front of the coaches. In this round, each coach selects singers for their team. All coaches are seated on a chair that is turned back from the stage. The coaches only judge by the power, clarity, type and uniqueness of the artists singing. If they like what they hear and want to mentor the artist for the next stage, they push a red button by their chair that would turn the chair around to face the stage and also see the artists for the first time after they sing to avoid any due bias according to characteristics and personality. If more than one coach turns around, the power to pick goes to the artist who will be given the chance to pick coach of his/her choice. If no coach turns his/her chair, the auditioning artist’s journey ends. At the end, each of the coach selects the same number of artists in his or her team who advance to the next round.
